Glastonbury, CT April 3, 2007. ZRink - Killingworth Guppies Spring 2007 season.

04/03/2007- The Guppies came out Tuesday night and were on the ball as they faced off against the Smashers. Jason Zito (1-1-2) got the scoring started early when he fired a shot though the BS's netminder five hole. Keith Millen (2-2-4) would score only seconds later as the Guppies opened up the 2-0 lead. The Ball Smashers started to get some late reinforcements and eventually made it a 2-1 game. However, goals from both Marc Crayton (1-2-3) and Tim Poulin (1-1-2) opened up a comfortable 4-1 lead. The Smashers fought there way back as scoring two of the next three goals. Late in the half the Fish were up 5-3 when Rob Murphy (1-2-3) scored a Power Play goal from the point. Mark Miller scored his third goal of the night to make it 6-4 Guppies at the half.

In the Second Half it was all Guppies, actually it was all Dan Pequita (4-1-5). After Millen scored his second goal of the game just 5 under minutes into the half, the "Dan Pequita Show" took the stage.  Dan score three times in a four minute span to give the Guppies a 10-4 lead and push the game out of reach.  While the crowd was amazed by Pequita's show on the main stage. Crayton put on a show on himself. During a penalty kill late in the half. Marc skated  and stick handled around several Smasher players wowing the packed Z-Rink crowd.

The Guppies have a West Coast stint next week as they face off against Thunder Bay. Game time is 11pm.....OUCH!! Who's got work on Wednesday morning? Tickets are free to this one folks......make it out, if you can!

SIDE NOTES:

-At this point Brian Mulcahy is looking to have the "Blair Award" renamed after him! Has anyone seen fong?

-Vote for Sanjaya!! The Guppies ask all their fans to join the push to make Sanjaya the next American Idol! Hey, if Dave Armenia can't win then Sanjaya should.

- Southern Guppies, Linskey, Kelly, Millen, and Murphy were all in Tampa, Florida this past weekend skating w/Burn & Kelly Ins Ice Hockey Team. The boys lost to Team Latvia in a game played at the St Pete Times Forum but managed to beat a team from Ottawa and Tampa.  Nice Tan Kelly!
