Official Press Release |
Glastonbury, CT April 28, 2004. ZRink - Killingworth Guppies Spring 2004 season.
4/28/04- There's not a lot to say here folks as the Guppies completely dominated this game from the drop of the ball. Dan Pequita started the Guppies scoring less than a minute into the game as the bell rang and the Whalers took their seats. With their defense tardy Tim Poulin would score two short handed goals .39 seconds apart. Zito would score the Gupps third short handed goal making John Carroll's tripping call the coaching move of the year. Forget Tortorella, Sutter, and Wilson, John Carroll is our vote for Coach of the year! Marc Crayton and Brian Kelly would trade the next three goals as the Gupps lead went to 7-0! Jason Zito and Poulin would score the next two to make it 9-0! It looked as if there was going to be an early dismissal but before the principal could cut class short the Whalers would score to make it 9-1! The Guppies would make it 10-1 when Rob Murphy scored off of a pass from John Carroll. The Whalers refused to come in from recess as they scored the next goal to cut the lead to eight. However, the Gupps had some extra curricular activities schedule after the game and wanted to get to them ASAP. The Guppies would score the next two goals and Mercy Rule the Whalers at the 1:25 mark of the First Half. Apparently it was only a half day but the Guppies were serious about their homework in the parking lot after the game. The Gupps have next week off but will return on Wednesday May 12th as they face off against the Panthers at 8pm. Seat are limited and are selling fast, get yours today!!
