Glastonbury, CT April 29, 2010. ZRink - Killingworth Guppies Spring 2010 season.
4/29/2010- It was another tough night at the Zrink barn for our beloved Killingworth Guppies Thursday night. The Guppies seem to have taken losing to a whole new level this season which has tested even the loyalists of fans. "These guys are F--king horrible!" cried one fan after the lose Thursday night. Players have been heard in the locker room trying to pump themselves up "Lets go out there and really try to win this one". Some players have been seen hanging out at the Killingworth Circle on the pay phone. A few people have insisted they overheard Joe Linskey at the circle making a demand to his agent "Trade me right F--king now!" The Fish fell behind 8-0 midway through the Second Half and where looking at being "Mercied" for the second straight week. Not to mentioned being shut out by House Brothers for the second time this season.
Enter Brian Mulcahy!
Rello finally got the Fish on the board scoring his first goal of the season and erasing the fears of many that the Gupps would be shut out. It also, help the chances of the Gupps not being mercied! There seemed to be some more life in the Guppies fins after Mulcahy's goal. The increased offense was rewarded when Dave Armenia deflected a Rob Murphy shot in the HB net for the Guppies 2nd and last goal on the night. The Fish went on to lose 8-2!
The Guppies face off next week against Jimmy Stickhandle at 7pm.
