- GUPPIES CLEAN UP! BEATING THE BIOHAZARD 7-5 - Glastonbury, CT April 23, 2003. ZRink - Killingworth Guppies victory number one of spring 2003 season.
4/23/03- The Killingworth Guppies started the Spring 2003
season right where they left off, Winning!!! Wednesday night's game was
the 25th game at the Zrink for our beloved fish. Going in 24-0-0, many
thought the Guppies time to lose had come. With any new season there are
troubles and difficulties getting back into the rythm of things and that
was true in the Guppies case. The BioHazard starting the scoring when the
Guppies defense was caught sleeping giving up a breakaway. "Meirk
and I were selling each other out" stated Guppies Defenseman Rob
Murphy(1-0-1). The Guppies wouldn't take long to strike back as Marc Crayton(3-0-3)
buried a pass from Brian Mulcahy(1-3-4). The two teams would trade goals
through the middle of the first half but the BioHazard then started to
pull away. They would score 2 quick goals late in the first giving then
the 4-2 lead. The Guppie fans were in shock of Linskey's performance "Linskey
looked awful tonight". In the locker room after game Linskey spoke
about his game "4 goals on 5 shots..... I'm not good!" Down
4-3 heading into the second the Guppies would tie the score off a Tim
Poulin(1-1-2) "Laser" from the top of the circles. That Goal
opened the flood gates as Murphy, Mulcahy, and Crayton added second half
goals. The Defense was questionable as Kelly, Carroll, Murphy, and Mierkeiwicz
didn't have the best of nights. The Guppies face off next on Wednesday
April 30, 2003 at 700pm vs the Knights. Good Seats are still available. Sincerely,
