Linskey Looks Awful in Guppies 9-7 Loss!

Glastonbury, CT June 29, 2011. ZRink - Killingworth Guppies Spring 2011 season.

06/29/2011-The Guppies faced off against the Hurleys Wednesday night, As the fish returned to action after their first Bye Week of the Summer session. The Guppies started out great as Tim Poulin and Marc Crayton scored within the first four minutes of the game to give the fish the 2-0 Lead. However, Joe Linskey must have had his "Bye Weeks" confused as he turned in his worst performance in quite some time. Linskey let up a goal on the FIRST shot he faced.....Ladies and Gentleman the 30 Pack goes to.....Joe Linskey! The Fish continued their attack as Keith Millen and Mike Lagana scored to make it a 4-1 game. That's when Linskey really put his stamp on the contest. Joe let in THREE goals on the First FIVE shots he faced!! That's Three goals on Five shots! (Just incase you missed it). Two of those goals were part of a Five (unaswered) Goal parade that ended behind Linskey. The Guppies were in trouble at the half, down 6-4!

The two teams exchanged scoring opportunities as Linskey settled into his net during the Second Half. The Guppies finally broke though at the midway point of the half as Dan Pequita scored, giving the faithful some hope. However, the Hurleys were quick to answer as .32 seconds later they would beat Linskey again. The Guppies never quit there push and were rewarded when Poulin scored his Second of the night, with 5:22 remaining. Brian Kelly would score .07 seconds later to tie the game at Seven. Killingworth looked to score the next goal but several great saves and a few posts kept the puck out of the Hurleys net. Then with two minutes remaining the Hurley's would score the game winner, then added another a minute later for the 9-7 victory.

The Guppies look to get swimming in the right direction next week when they face off against ZRink (Wed 7pm). Tickets are available.
