Official Game Summary

Glastonbury, CT August 14, 2007. ZRink - Killingworth Guppies Summer 2007 season.

08/14/2007- Tuesday night game was an "Alaskan Time Zone Game" set up by the Guppie's PR Director Shasta McNasty. Mr. McNasty should have scheduled the game against a team with some older players. "It's never a good sign when the other team pulls up in a mini-van and one of their moms is driving!" stated Guppies forward Dave Armenia in a post game interview. The Spartans came into the game in third place and are having a very successful season. However, this was a different team with two of their best players not in the line up. Not to mention, they had to borrow goalie equipment from the rink. With that news both Tim Poulin (3-1-4) and Keith Millen (2-5-7) started to salivate at the scoring possibilities. Meanwhile, Guppies net minder Andy Pettola was disappointed with the prospect of a very slow night. The scoring started early as Jason Zito (2-2-4) scored .40 into the game and took the early lead on next weeks 30 pack! The Goals came quick and often for the Guppies while Pettola took care of business in the Guppie's Zone making several great saves.  Marc Crayton's (2-1-3) "Career Season" continued as he scored twice. Most guys hit the prime in hockey at 27yrs old Crayton is about 10 years late. However, Crayton like to believe he's still 27 so, it all works out.  Dave Armenia (1-1-2) scored his third goal of the season. The Guppies closed out the Spartan's with .19 seconds remaining when Poulin scored on a low shot from the right corner of the rink.

The Guppies face off next week against the Huskies, game time is 8pm! Tix are available.

SIDE NOTES:

- Joe Linskey, Mike Halle, and Rob Murphy were healthy scratches Tuesday night.

- The Guppies actually had one fan Tuesday night thanks to Brian Mulcahy.

- The Chase is on! With Keith Millen's two goals he's moved closer to Tim Poulin's record of 29 goals in a season. Currently Millen is at 25 goals.
