Official Game Summary

Glastonbury, CT July 20, 2007. ZRink - Killingworth Guppies Summer 2007 season.

07/20/2007- Friday night the Guppies played in their B-1 crossover game as they took on the first place undefeated Z-Rink Selects. The Selects were shorthanded which made them more......well....... Select! The Fish took advantage of  the shorten Select bench and opened the scoing as Marc Crayton crashed the net and scored off a rebound. It took the Guppies over nine minutes to score their next goal but then Keith Millen scored twice in .12 seconds. Up 3-0, the Guppies looked to be in good shape......enter Joe Linskey, and more importantly Selects forward Dom Russo.  Russo made it 3-2, by scoring twice in .44 seconds, beating Linskey with low outside shots. Crayton and Millen both scored again to give the Gupps some breathing room. However, Russo scored his third of the night (going 3 for 3 on Linskey at that point) to make it a 5-3 game at the half.

In the Second, Murphy started the Guppies scoring, scoring his first of the game. Again, it was Russo and his Selects team scoring to keep the game close.  Tim Poulin would score to make it 7-4, before the Select scored thier last goal of the night. Good news Joe, it wasn't Dom! The Guppies started to pull away late in the game. Millen scored his fourth of the game before Dan Pequita started firing onetimers all over the place and score three goals late. The Guppies went on to the 13-5 victory!

SIDE NOTES:

- Mike "Gil" Halle was a healthy scratch Tuesday night.

- Friday night was "Guppies night Out"!  A chance for the fans of Guppies nation to hang out and party with the team. Among the many celebs that were seen hanging with the Gupps, was former Guppie Craig Zito.

-  Tim Poulin has come out with a new hair gel product.....he's still working on the name....."Le J"?
