What's it Like to be a Neidermayer? Ask Jason Zito!

ANAHEIM, Calif. —  As Jason Zito saw the Niedemayer brothers skate with the Stanley Cup last week he was quick to remember the feelings he had when he won league Championships with his younger brother Craig.

Jason Zito and Craig Zito played on the Guppies Summer 2004 and Spring 2005 Championship teams. "It was a great experience being able to win with Craig"  explain Jason. "It's something that's rare and I'm glad I had the opportunity in Killingworth to do it"

It's very rare!  Prior to the Rob and Scott Niedermayer's Stanley Cup Championship the last brother duo that pulled off the feat were Brent and Duane Sutter with the Islanders in 1983. Twenty four years prior.

While it more common at the lower levels of hockey. It's still a remarkable accomplishment.

Just ask the Fink brothers, the first brothers to play for the Killingworth Guppies in 1995. While Peter Fink won Championships with the Guppies in 1996 and 1998. His older brother Steven never won the hardware, playing in 1995 and 1997.

Many fans of the Killingworth Guppies had hoped to see the Zito brothers skate for many seasons to come when Craig arrived in 2004. However, Craig had bigger asperation. "Hey, I had fun in Killingworth but let's face it, Nobody knows where the heck it is".  C. Zito decided to chase the big city lights and moved to Boston in the Summer of 2005.

He seems happy with the move "It's the best thing I ever did!"

Jason supports his brother decision "It was the right move for Craig"

One thing is for sure. The Zito brothers are the only siblings to win a Championship with the fish and likely will be the last. However, as for the Ducks and Neidermayer brothers there's always next year!
