Glastonbury, CT March 24, 2005. ZRink - Killingworth Guppies Spring 2005 season.

March 24, 2004 - The Gupps kept rolling as they Faced off against the Red Wings Thursday night. The Wings were a bit short handed as Stevie Y,  Shanny,  and the Dominator all missed their flights from Detroit Rock City!!! Rob Murphy opened the scoring just over two minutes into the game as he buried a pass from Craig Zito. Only four minutes later Craig would bury his only goal of the night as a pass from Brian Kelly bounced off his stick, his skate, and maybe even his helmet before it found the net, Either way it counts! The Gupps continued to dominate the Wings  but  their  goalie  was equal to the task. However, with just over seven minutes remaining  Jason Zito set up Dan Pequita with a shot from the point that hit the twine. At the Half the Gupps were in control 3-0.

In the Second Half the Wings came out flying and had several scoring chances that were turned aside by Joe Linskey. Linskey had an easy first half but in the second he was much busier.....He actually had to put his "Goaltending for Dummies" book down. Murphy made it 4-0 when moments later the Wings scored their first of the night. The Guppies had opened the Spring 2005 season with 65 minutes and 48 seconds of scoreless hockey.....Not bad .....Especially with Linskey in Net and Kelly working the Blue line! In the Second Half the "Tim Poulin Show" took the stage as he scored three of the next four Guppies goals! Timmy was kind enough to let Pequita score his second of the night in between his scoring frenzy. The Wings kept coming and would score the next two goal making it a 8-3 game.....Too Little, Too Late! Pequita and Marc Crayton sealed the Wings fate scoring the Gupps 9th and 10th Goals just seconds apart. The Gupps faceoff against the Ball Busters next week at 11pm, the special late night ticket rates will be in effect for this game. Also all Guppy players are strongly erged to wear their cups next week.....ouch!

SIDE NOTES:

- Mike Halle was healthy Scratches on Thursday night. Mike has the early lead on the Brian Blair Award!

- Tim Poulin scored his 100th goal as a Guppy last night, actually he scored his 101st goal as well. Tim has had a lot of success on finding the net averaging just over 24 goals per season.

- Late! Dan Pequita and Tim Poulin were both late to the Guppies game Thursday night, no specific reason was given
